Hartlepool's Boxing Day Dip 2024

Another roaring success at Seaton Carew

In a quiet corner of North East England, you’ll be sure to find a lot of heart.

Hartlepool is a seaside town with a rich history of industry and a busy port.

And if there is one thing you should know about Hartlepudlians - the people of Hartlepool - it’s that they have spirit in the bucket load.

The annual Boxing Day Dip is the perfect example of the town’s gumption.

Every year, scores of people gather at Seaton Carew beach and take to the icy cold North Sea.

Many do so to raise money for charity, and others for a giggle and a sense of community.

This year was no exception.

As the water glistened beneath the beaming sunshine and the clear blue skies, dippers sprinted into the sea in all manner of weird and wonderful costumes.

It was quite the spectacle to behold and I just can’t wait for next year!

Will you join your local dip in 2025?
